: : jessica & eric : : a beautiful wedding in a lush conservatory

This is an oldie, but a goodie! I shot this wedding back before there were blogs, years ago, on film. It was one of my favorites though, because it was SO lush and green and beautiful. The wedding took place in a lovely conservatory where the light was just spectacular, the shots of the wedding dress were against giant ferns, and champagne was popped in the orchid room immediately following the ceremony. The bride, Jessica, was very minimalist and JUST stunning. She opted for a very stripped down look where “less is more” and she was just radiating beauty. I loved her look. They celebrated with about 50 of their closest friends at a local restaurant and used a wedding cake topper that was Jessica’s grandparents. I loved every simplistic detail about this wedding.. just had to blog it because this is one of my favorites ever shot! Check out the images:

: : alyse & jay : : mountain top wedding in colorado

So Jay & Alyse are one of my favorite couples. I have photographed them from the start of their family with baby Emmett a year ago to now, and we’ve captured quite a few milestones! (It helps that they love every photoshoot we have and absolutely nail each and every photo I take of them!).. However, their “trash the dress” mountain-top wedding “do-over” was my favorite. (Well, I think? Every shoot with them is literally SO much fun and SO fantastic – because, well, they make it so easy!!)… in any case, Alyse & Jay had their official wedding in Breckenridge, but, as they told me, everything went wrong. The power went out and they had to run their outdoor reception on a generator which kept failing! And they barely got any wedding photography. So, I said, why not play dress up, and we’ll go re-shoot your wedding in the mountains?? And OH MY. I am really glad I made that suggestion. These two are just STUNNING! Take a look at some of my favorites from our little one hour shoot at Mueller State Park:

romantic wedding in the south of france : : josh & brittany get married!

As far as wedding locations go, the South of France is pretty high on my list. This entire wedding weekend was perfection. The bride and groom had everything planned from the moment guests arrived on Friday afternoon (after getting everyone on the high speed TGV train from Paris down to Lyon) to the Sunday morning brunch and tour of and wine tasting at a local vineyard. I know every wedding is incredible in its own way.. but boy, did this one blow me away!  The location was in an old estate overlooking the vineyards just outside of Nice, and the friends and family that traveled from all over the US (and there were a lot of them) were a true testament to how much the bride and groom were loved. The food and the wine were just outstanding, and the location of the ceremony, in a private beautiful little courtyard that was built in about 1300, was exquisite. To say I’m lucky to have been a part of this gorgeous ceremony and wedding weekend is a real understatement. It was top notch in every way!

southern weddings : : flower girls and beauty

Ah.. southern weddings. Sigh! This one took place outside of Birmingham, Alabama, so we are talking deep south. Real smooth, slow talk with the accents, hot humid weather, magnolia trees, and a beautiful old southern antebellum mansion which was sort of not in the best shape (paint chipping, floors sort of uneven and wobbly) which just added to the romanticism for me. You could just feel the generations of families who’d lived there, sitting on the porch letting the oppressively hot summers roll by while just talking and sipping their sweet tea real slow. It was a beautiful location for a wedding!

And, boy, did these little girls steal the show at this wedding. There was a candy bar for them at the reception, so we’re talking gumballs all over the floors and big time sugar highs, which made for crazy dancing! What a wonderful day. I love the southern folk.  Here are a few of my favorites. 6V6A0059
